AG's Elder Abuse Listening Tour

Elder Abuse LT Logo

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel joined with Supreme Court Justices Richard Bernstein and Megan Cavanagh, Midland County Prosecutor J. Dee Brooks, state legislators Rep. Brian Elder and Sen. Paul Wojno, and 72-year-old Macomb resident Dennis Burgio to announce the formation of the Michigan Elder Abuse Task Force.  The task force is made up of 80 members and represents more than 50 organizations.

As you know, the Elder Abuse Listening Tour is a unique opportunity to connect with statewide leaders to share experiences and make recommendations. While specific initiatives have been identified, the purpose of the tour is to make sure the Elder Abuse Task Force explores opportunities to tackle the issues of abuse, neglect and exploitation faced by more than 73,000 Michigan seniors – and then find ways to address those challenges.
